Brad FeldPixie Maté is proud to announce that it will be sponsoring Brad Feld, Managing Director of the Foundry Group, in his effort to complete a marathon in each of our 50 states by his 50th birthday and support his goal to raise $100K for the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis.

For those who don’t know Brad, he’s a long time staple of Boulder’s entrepreneurial community. As a cofounder of Foundry, and previously Mobius Venture Capital, he has provided many software companies the launching pad required to become successful. Last year, he helped found Techstars, a summer incubator program for fledging entrepreneurial ventures. He’s also a friend of the entrepreneurship program at CU’s Leeds School of Business, offering a helping hand to budding entrepreneurs. Brad has a popular blog of his own, Feld Thoughts, which covers a wide array of topics from techie to environmental. [I love the nerdiness of a recent math music video post].

All of us at Pixie Maté are glad that we can help support a goal that allows Brad to take a break from the technology age and get a little sunshine. Brad has until 12/1/2015 to finish his fiftieth marathon. Fortunately, he has already completed 11 to date and has 2 more scheduled this year. Still, he’s going to have to average more than 5 marathons per year for the next 7 years. Looks like were going to be seeing Brad in his running shorts quite a bit (alternatively, maybe he can get one of his fledgling software companies to hack a database and revise his birth certificate).

[…] Time to go for a run and think about birds, the ocean, and happy thoughts.  I’ll drink some Pixie Maté first to fuel me while giving thanks to my latest 50 by 50 Marathon sponsor. […]

Welcome. Hey Hey Maté is a blog of solace from the company that brings you the cup of comfort. An attempt to capture the evolving culture of yerba maté from barista tales of what goes into the best maté latte to how the sacred sip of South America fuels people to the ends of the world (literally). Plus, some peripheral distractions that catch our fancy. Yes, Pixie Maté (Boulder, CO) is behind this operation...but when it comes down to it, Hey Hey Maté is just another way for 2 amigos to express more big love for the tea of the tree that sings the body electric. Drink Deep. You're safe here. Duane and T.J. (Nov 2006)
